I've done 3 Livestream collaborations, and it went really well. Easy to use, and we got viewers each time. If I can figure this out, anyone can! I plan on doing one a week.
Is it possible for the 'live' to stay on your profile afterwards? I have just had a practice and it seemed to disappear, which is good as it was just a practice, but if I do an interview 'live' with a fellow sub stacker I would quite like it to remain as a 'post'.
My friend who has a good following on Substack wants to get into this, but he wants to be able to moderate the comments from a computer instead of manually scrolling from his phone. Is that possible?
I did one on a whim and it was terrible, I'm gearing up to do one that will still probably be terrible but at least a little better. My problem is that my reluctance to actually do a live makes me even MORE reluctant to announce that I'm doing it. It's probably a mistake, but I'm just going to live with the first few being less public until I get in the groove.
"Use a shared calendar – Let your subscribers add your live stream schedule to their calendars so they get automatic reminders." --> how do you do this? I can not see calendar/shared calendar anywhere...help please!
Thank you so much for the detailed article, Philip! Among the tips, you mentioned "use a shared calendar"--Is this a Substack feature or you just use Google calendar? Thank you!
Hi Philip, great post. How do you find the process of reading viewers' questions while in the live stream. I'd love to do some AMA sessions but feel like it would be quite hard to read questions on my smartphone while broadcasting.
Is it possible to share a screen with the audience?
No it’s not possible yet, but I’ve already asked them for that.
I like the “yet” part - thx! :-)
Great article, saving for future reference.

That’s awesome @Tim Ebl. Are you doing a sole episode or will you have a guest?
Philip I have a guest again next week and I think I’ll keep going with other people most of the time
That’s totally fine. I also enjoy episodes with guests more, but I want to try to solo live too.
Awesome post!
Thanks Philip
I am excited to do a live in the near future 💕
That’s cool. Do you already have a plan for it?
Not yet:/)
Looking forward to learning from you, David and Claudia this morning.
Almost ready for 6am 😂😂
Thank you so much for showing up :)
It was awesome!!
*saves post*
Happy to read that :)
Great post Philip! 😊
Remember this moment. There will not be many posting from me :D

No need to self-promote here
hmmm
Let’s keep Substack clean and grow the organic way :)
can you do a live from desktop?

Is there a way to live stream with audio only?

Why is the quality so bad? I just did a livestream for the first time and the video quality is garbage...
