Question on the 10-5-1 Rule: I just love the idea, but my question is if I write 10 notes a day, can I follow the same math for the 10-5-1 rule, and also, would I stick to my topic area? I write supernatural fiction, so I would only concentrate on using this method for publications that publish this type of content. Hope this question didn't sound silly. Thanks for everything. Blessings. :) :)
I'd say if you write 10 notes a day, you don't have to follow the same math for the 10-5-1 rule because it would probably take you too much time. So maybe you'd only do it for max. 5 notes per day.
When it comes to reaching out to other publications, it doesn't directly have to be within your niche (supernatural fiction). But it can also be in the overall fiction niche.
So if I do 5 notes per day then I would follow the same process you mentioned for the 10-5-1 rule? Can I do the same amount of notes, thoughtful comments and private message for the 5 notes per day as you do. Hope I’m making sense sorry for any confusion Mr. Jari. Blessings. :):)
Exactly the same approach I'm taking. It really is a case of talking to one person at a time. When I first thought to do it this way, a voice in my head went, Oh, God, seriously? One at a time?! I don't have time for that.
But then I looked at it differently: instead of adding numbers to MY subscriber list, I was reaching out to make a connection with someone else.
I was reframing the exercise as an opportunity to open a conversation. With someone who might like to read what I read, and someone whose writing I might gain value from. Seen this way, adding one person at a time no longer seemed like a mindless, pre-AI task, it seemed to get to the heart of why we write in the first place: to make an emotional connection with another person.
