Hi Selda! :) Jari is on vacation right now so I'm jumping here to give a short answer in the meantime 😊 This article is not related to the Substack publication. It's a separate email list he has built over the past few years.
We both continue to run our separate email lists along with the Substack list/publication right now.
Hi all! I've just joined Substack and have decided to use it as my email service provider, so will sending weekly emails to my list (which I've grown to 600 this year) from here moving forward. I'm curious to know how you find the comparison between the email providers? I'm a bit concerned the engagement/open rates will drop if people turn off notifications from the Substack platform...
Build the well before you’re thirsty
Thanks Jari. Would you class Substack subscribers as your email list?

Thanks Sinem! I guess my question is whether or not you could class your Substack subscribers as an email list if you have no other email list yet?
You certainly can. That's what it is: A list of subscribers. :)
Thanks for reminding us how simple it really is!! Appreciate it!
Really good tips here. Thanks for sharing.
