Everything YOU wanted to know about getting started and growing on Substack.

Substack September Kick-Off Session: Your Replay is here
7

We kicked off our Substack September boot camp with over 100 paid subscribers and an epic first live training on Friday. 🎉

First of all, THANK YOU for joining us and committing to this exciting challenge.

If you couldn’t join us live, you can now watch the replay. If you have any questions while watching the recording, leave a comment here, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

During the kick-off session, we talked about topics like:

  • 🌐 What sets Substack apart from other publishing platforms and social networks

  • 🚀 Why we decided to start writing on Substack as an addition to our existing channels like Medium and our Convertkit newsletters (and why we wish we had started sooner)

  • 🧡 How to get started if you're completely new to Substack

On top of that, we discussed more than 30 questions from our live attendees, such as:

  • I see lots of people that create NOTES that look like highlighted book passages, is that an app, or a feature on Substack?

  • How much engagement with other creators would you advise?

  • Can I repurpose videos or clips?

  • For the repurposed content from Medium to Substack, do you mention it was originally posted on Medium, etc?

  • Is it okay to import the subscribers we have from Medium to Substack?

  • What are the benefits of importing subscribers?

  • Can one write anonymously on Substack?

  • Is Substack’s creator platform different from the reader platform?

  • Should one create a publication (brand) or just use one’s own name?

  • How many users are on Substack compared to Medium?

  • Can other authors submit notes and articles to your publication?

  • And many more!

Our next Substack September live event is happening TODAY at 5 pm CET.

We’re going live for our monthly Roundtable conversation – this time focusing on our paid strategy on Substack to discuss topics like:

  • Best practices to gain paid subscribers on Substack

  • What a marketing campaign on Substack can look like

  • How we're involving our existing audience in our marketing efforts

The session will be hosted on Zoom, and we'll have time for an open Q&A session as well.

Paid subscribers can find the links to join the Zoom session at the bottom of this post & in the paid subscriber chat.
