I really appreciated your point about mini-courses. That format makes so much sense, and it’s something I may consider exploring in the future. Thanks for the insight!

I can highly recommend it, Chad!

Looking forward to the session!

Love to see how it can be leveraged and how to come up with great and useful courses to generate that value based on existing skills and knowledge.

Based on the post, I'm sold that it's a good offering to have, but I'm interested specifically in how each person bridges that gap of knowing things and then knowing how to shape something from it and sell it.

Awesome! Looking forward to welcoming you on the masterclass!

Nice!! Does Write Build Scale have any mini courses right now?

Jari Roomer's avatar

Yes, we have our SuperWriter mini-course, which is a productivity course for online writers / online creators:

The crazy thing is I have three niches and I'm trying to narrow it down to 1 main focus and 2 side ventures and be able to make a mini course because I like to create edutainment plus write

Jari Roomer's avatar

Focus is definitely the way to go. Pick the niche with the most potential and make that your main focus.

That's what's hardest lol . I can't pick 🤣

Really. I always thought about it but didn't know what I need to start up

This is great! I like the idea of adding mini courses in 2026!

I can highly recommend it!

Is there a way to make a mini-course without having to do a talking head? I have seen short courses with images and slides

Jari Roomer's avatar

Yeah, you can also record it without showing your face! Not a problem.

That is great! I think that I might have a mini-course from my latest post, if I add stuff to it. Can maybe make an ebook as lead magnet? If I have the structure and content, can brainstorm with AI how to make it into a visually nice mini-course

I don't have a mini-course yet although I do have an email course that fits the length description.

Curious too know what info to put in and what to take out :)

Jari Roomer's avatar

What topic is your email course on?

Juan Gonzalez's avatar

It’s about defeating distractions and improving focus.

Jari Roomer's avatar

Nice! That's a big pain point for a lot of people nowadays.

Juan Gonzalez's avatar

Agreed! It was a big sticking point for me back in the day.

I'm curious if you have any platform suggestions to handle the delivery or asset management of mini-courses. 🤔

Interesting insights on offering mini-courses!

Should that be 100% video?

Really appreciated your take in this and will put that into action!

Great article with some clear suggestions. How do you determine what type of subject matter should be made into a mini-course? How do you know what will sell?

The economics of digital products are exponentially better than digital services at scale. One product reaches unlimited customers with zero marginal cost per unit. That's why every creator should have at least one. It's not just revenue diversification—it's business model optimization.

Thanks for this post. I’m curious to know how folks handle monetizing their Substack while working full time in a related industry. My challenge is this: if I were leading this company and one of my employees was creating content on the side, I would think, why aren’t you creating that content for us? It’s not enough to say that I created the content on my own time, because it’s a startup and the attitude is that we all give 150% regardless of the hours. I am on board with this philosophy because this is what it takes for a startup to succeed, but I also really want to establish myself as an expert in the field and build a following for me as an individual, not just as a member of a great company. What do y’all think?
