SMM #008: Stop Spending So Much Time In "Preparation" Mode
Start small, experiment, and figure it out as you go.

Welcome to another Substack Mastermind Monday!
Every week, we’ll share the most valuable notes (created by our Substack Mastermind members) to help you grow your audience, build your online business, and get a spark of inspiration to start the new week motivated and energized.
Let’s dive straight into it!
Note Of The Week
The note of the week is from Substack Mastermind member Phil Powis ❤️⚡️.
When you're thinking about starting a new project (e.g., starting an online business, creating a digital product, launching a newsletter), it can be tempting to spend a lot of time in 'preparation' mode.
We read all kinds of books, watch a bunch of YouTube tutorials, and invest in multiple courses - all to learn more in order to 'get ready.'
But oftentimes, the fastest way to learn (and make progress) is to just get started.
Instead of trying to gather all the answers beforehand, figure it out as you go. Start small, experiment, and let the process teach you.
You might make mistakes, but those mistakes will teach you more than weeks (or months) of consuming content ever could.
So, what’s one small action you can take today to move your idea forward?

“What’s the biggest problem I can solve…?” Looking at what we know about andragogy (adult learning theory developed by Knowles), adults are problem-driven in the way they approach learning. I never thought about it before but I approach my work this way as well.
Thanks for the round-up!
