How To Make Time To Write, Don't Judge Your Own Ideas, And The Power of Authenticity
Substack Mastermind Monday #13

Welcome to the last Substack Mastermind Monday of 2024!
Every week, we share three actionable tips and strategies (inspired by our Substack Mastermind members) to help you grow your audience, build your online business, and get a spark of inspiration to start the new week motivated and energized.
Let’s dive straight into it!
#1: Don’t Judge Your Ideas - Just Post Them
If an idea comes to you, don’t overthink it - just post it.
Here’s the thing: we are terrible judges of our own ideas.
Something you think is “meh” could be exactly what someone in your audience needs to hear that day. And the post you’re absolutely convinced will go viral? Sometimes… crickets. That’s just how it works.
The point is, you don’t know how an idea will land until you put it out there. So don’t waste time trying to decide if it’s “good enough.”
If you have an idea, share it. Let your audience decide.
And even if it doesn’t blow up, every post is still valuable. It keeps you visible in front of your audience, which is key in building your personal brand and developing a connection with your audience.
So next time an idea pops into your head, don’t overthink it. Post it.
Even if it’s not ground-breaking, even if it feels small. Because you never know which idea will resonate, spark a connection, or help someone out.
#2: Be Yourself
Nowadays, people don’t want to learn from some untouchable expert who seems like they’ve got it all figured out.
They want to learn from someone they resonate with - someone who’s relatable, real, and willing to share their personal wins, struggles, and everything in between.
When you let your guard down and just share what you’ve learned or what you’re going through, you build a connection that no amount of “guru speak” can match.
So, don’t stress about being the ultimate authority on your topic.
Share your experiences.
Talk about what worked for you, what didn’t, and what you’re figuring out as you go. That’s the stuff that sticks with people.
At the end of the day, being human is your biggest strength. It’s what makes your voice unique - and it’s what draws people in.
#3: How To Make Time To Write
Let’s be real: we’re all busy. Life is full of work, family, endless to-do lists, and about a million distractions.
So it’s never about having time to write - it’s about making time to write.
And that starts with deciding that your writing is important enough to carve out a little space for it, no matter what.
Here’s the trick: schedule it. Seriously, put it on your calendar like you would a meeting or a dentist appointment.
Whether it’s first thing in the morning, during a lunch break, or right before bed, block off that time and treat it like it’s non-negotiable.
And you don’t need hours to make progress. Those small, consistent chunks of time add up.
Ten minutes today, ten minutes tomorrow, and before you know it, you’ve got a draft, a Note, or a newsletter issue ready to go.
Writing doesn’t require perfect conditions or endless free time - it just requires showing up.
So make the time. Even just a little bit. Your future self (and your writing) will thank you.

Writing is not about perfection.
Writing is about showing up sometimes.
The beauty of your ideas lies in their rawness, their authenticity, and their unexpected connections.
By simply posting what feels natural, you create ripples in minds and hearts.
Happy New Year 2025 Sinem, Jari & Philip!!! :-)
