Wonderful post Sinem, so appreciative for your honest doses of reality. There is always a trade-off, but reassuring to hear you would take this path any day over any other.

If you all do any podcast episodes on starting a business, I'd LOVE to come on and talk about that.

This is such a refreshingly honest take, Sinem. The emotional resilience you describe is what separates creators who last from those who burn out. I especially resonated with the point about needing to be your own cheerleader and embracing that inner discipline is what turns creativity into sustainability. Thank you for putting words to the messy middle that so few talk about.

This is the most honest "creator syllabus" I’ve read in a while. Definitely worth it.

I love this article and particularly the reminder that most people won't 'get it.' Sadly I think that is true of a lot of creative professions but I love how you frame imperviousness to doubters as an imperative.

Great post! I think being our own cheerleader and focusing on consistency instead of immediate gratification are really the two things that can make or break someone trying to content create. Even in the low times this work is the most fulfilling for me

Love this! Thanks for painting a visual for me about the "messy middle " some days it's overwhelming creating a stop n go work flow for me. Your authenticity about the creative process has given me the nudge I need this week to stay focus and consistent. Grateful

"If you’re in it for the long run, you’ll need to deal with a lot of these emotional ups and downs."

So true. Personal relationships can either temper or torment you during these times.
